The primary and statuary objective of the Association is to support, promote and spread the knowledge of the “Marian Way of the Alps”, in addition to the more general rediscovery of the practice of “pilgriming on foot” and slow mobility in custody and love for creation, through widespread awareness of the topic.
We started by examining the network of paths, mule tracks and very low-traffic roads in the area (for now, Valtellina but we are working on future developments to include the entire territory of the Province), and then mapped the route of the “Marian Way of the Alps” defining the route, any variants and stages. The places of religious, historical, cultural, landscape and artistic interest will be indicated on the route.
Our commitment is aimed at promoting initiatives and collaborations to enhance slow mobility and responsible and sustainable, religious and secular tourism, both on the “Marian Way of the Alps” and on other paths and itineraries, since we identify the paths as important places of meeting, knowledge and exchange of experiences between pilgrims and the local population.
We collaborate with the religious and civil institutions of the area, with the association systems and local businesses, to encourage the development of projects related to the path.
We provide information and information support to resolve operational and logistical needs to those who intend to undertake the “Marian Way of the Alps”.
We will collaborate with the rectory of the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of Madonna di Tirano in the distribution of the credentials of the path.
